Members of the campus community and the public are welcome and encouraged to join us as our visiting international internship participants share about the research projects they are contributing to on our campuses.

Recent Past Research Symposium Events
- 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. | Friday, August 21, 2026 | University Commons Atrium, North Campus
- Event begins with opening remarks from Ms. Gretchen Dubois-Phillips, Associate Director of International Student & Visitor Services
- Attendees are then welcome to explore the poster fair and 3MT-style (Three Minute Thesis-style) presentations of research internship participants from 10:15 a.m. through 12:15 p.m.
- 3MT-style presentations will be happening in room 1-480 of University Commons
- Interns have been split into two presentations groups, which are named after our U of A school colours of Green and Gold!
- 10:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m. is team Green's designated presentation time slot
- 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. is team Gold's designated presentation time slot
- 12:15 p.m. is a chance to grab a light refreshment and take photos
- Certificate ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. with certificates of participation presented to research interns who are near completion of their stay
- 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. | Thursday, July 16, 2026 | University Commons Atrium, North Campus | Featured 50 research posters and 20 live 3MT-style presentations | Dr. Tian Tang, Vice-Provost (International Education and Enrollment) presented certificates
- 9 a.m.-5 p.m. | March 10-12, 2026 | University Commons Atrium (main floor), North Campus, University of Alberta | Festival of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (FURCA) in partnership with University of Alberta's Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI)
- Thursday, December 4, 2025 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Education Building 4th Floor Atrium/Lounge | also featuring international students from U of A English Language School's EAP 500
- 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. | Thursday, August 21st, 2025 | University Commons Campus Connections (new main floor atrium of the old Dentistry/Pharmacy building)
