The University of Alberta is on a journey to define and embed institutional values to strengthen our community and guide our collective efforts. This vital initiative is a Year One deliverable under Forward Together: The University of Alberta People Strategy 2024-2034, aiming to support each of us in making a personal connection to the university and establishing a common basis for our work and decision-making.

We've recently completed phase one, which involved thematic consultations, five "values lab" workshops and an online survey. Our community's rich insights and ideas have been compiled into a What We Heard report and some preliminary themes.

Now, we invite you to engage with these findings. Verna Yiu, provost and vice-president (Academic) and Todd Gilchrist, vice-president (University Services, Operations and Finance), will host two interactive, virtual roundtables. These sessions offer an important additional opportunity for you to contribute your thoughts and ideas to the institutional values project and respond to the words and themes that emerged from the values labs. Your participation is crucial as we solidify values that truly reflect our university.

Dates:

  • Tues, May 27 - 3 - 4 p.m. MT
  • Fri, May 30 - 1 - 2 p.m. MT
