Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science, & Technology (WiSEST) internship

The WISEST Intern role provides undergraduate students with hands-on experience in STEM outreach, program support, and administrative work within a professional office environment. Interns volunteer 5–10 hours per week from September/October to March/April, with flexibility around academic demands. Projects are assigned based on individual learning goals and WISEST operational needs and may include curriculum development, communications, research, and event support. In return, interns gain transferable skills, professional references, and tuition credit while contributing to initiatives that promote equity and inclusion in STEM.

What to Expect

WISEST Interns receive clear expectations, consistent supervision, and ongoing support in a flexible, student-centered volunteer role. Interns are expected to communicate professionally, meet agreed timelines, and actively engage in assigned tasks, with guidance and feedback provided throughout the term.
