Update my gender designation

This service allows students to request changes to their gender designation in their University of Alberta records. Requests are submitted in writing to the Student Service Centre and must include the student ID number and signature. This service supports accurate personal records and can be completed independently or alongside legal name changes. Updates help ensure university systems reflect a student’s affirmed identity. Additional support and resources related to gender identity are available through campus partners, including the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Service (iSMSS).
