Safe House Program

The University of Alberta Safe House Program provides temporary emergency accommodation for current students and their children who are experiencing immediate personal safety risks, intolerable living conditions, or extreme financial hardship. Stays range from one day up to two weeks, depending on individual circumstances. The program may also accommodate student pets. A Safe House Advisor provides follow-up support, coordination, and referrals to campus and community resources to help students address the underlying issues that led to the housing emergency and work toward longer-term stability.
