Lone Worker Program (check-ins during after-hours work)

U of A Protective Services' Lone Worker Program is designed to enhance the personal safety of members of the U of A community who are working or studying alone during the quiet hours of the evening, as well as weekends and statutory holidays. Upon request, a peace officer will visit or telephone you during the requested period, as well as contacting you in the event of an emergency in your area.

How to Access

To request the service, call UAPS at 780-492-5050 and provide your:
• name
• exact location
• workplace telephone number
• emergency contact name and telephone number (optional)
• estimated time of departure
Also contact UAPS if there are any changes, or to cancel your booking.

Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday: 10 p.m. - 7 a.m.
24 hours during weekends & statutory holidays

What to Expect

If UAPS is unable to contact you during the designated times, then UAPS will immediately investigate your work site. If UAPS is unable to locate you, then UAPS will notify your emergency contact person.
