Event planning support for student groups

Service offered by U of A Students' Union (UASU)

The U of A Students' Union (UASU), in partnership with Student Success & Experience, supports University of Alberta student groups in the event planning phase. Student groups leaders can book an appointment with UASU's Student Group Services team to ask for a personalized coaching session. In these sessions, the team helps groups plan and anticipate the needs for new event ideas and initiatives, as well as provides support and guidance on best practices for recurring events and how to maintain compliance with policies.

How to Access

  1. Email clubs@uasu.ca with questions or to request a meeting with a Student Group Services team member.
  2. Once a meeting date is confirmed, a team member will meet with the group and answer their questions.

What to Expect

Student groups receive timely, professional guidance from Student Group Services regarding event risk management. This includes informing them of best practices, ensuring the event aligns with all overarching policy, and helping navigate different campus and community partners they may need to connect with.
